Building The Bridge From Desire To Achievement - One Belief At A Time

Beyond Cognitive Therapy - A “Sub-Cognitive” Approach

In the 1960’s Dr. Aaron Beck introduced cognitive therapy to the field of mental health. His insights offered more awareness about the impact thoughts/beliefs have on our well being.  Negative thinking has been cited as a cause of depression and anxiety.  Dr. David Burns’ popular book, Feeling Good, revolutionized the power of the mind by recognizing and challenging conscious beliefs. The HeartMath Institute has published research in dealing with anger, anxiety and stress by changing thought processes. Cognitive therapy is an important piece of the wellness puzzle. It addresses the conscious mind and offers ways to address disturbing  thoughts. Cognitive therapy is a step in the right direction.

A crucial question is... where do these thoughts and beliefs come from?

Beliefs are often the result of lifelong “programming”. Studies in neuroscience indicate that as much as 95% of our consciousness is actually subconscious. The subconscious mind is the storehouse for our attitudes, values and beliefs. Beliefs drive our behaviors. Often the most effective way to change a behavior is to change the SUBCONSCIOUS BELIEF(S) that support it. PSYCH-K® offers tools to reach the SUBCONSCIOUS BELIEFS. I call this process Cognitive Therapy for the Subconscious Mind or Sub-Cognitive Therapy.

PSYCH-K® which stands for psychological kinesiology, uses muscle testing to communicate with the subconscious mind. A limiting or sabotaging belief will produce a weakened muscle response.  PSYCH-K® utilizes a blend of ancient and modern principles and techniques to “balance” or make necessary belief changes in the subconscious mind. PSYCH-K® techniques increase cross talk between the 2 hemispheres of the brain which is ideal for changing subconscious beliefs, creating subconscious beliefs to support your conscious goals.
